Fundraising and Corporate Chairman, Founder and President Emeritus
Jesse B. Johnson, Jr. is the founder of 100 Black Men of Long Beach, Inc., established in 2008 with fellow African-American community leaders. He is a retiree of the City of Long Beach after 29 years of service, and most recently, the City’s Diversity and Economic Opportunity Officer. In this role, he advances, extends opportunities, and provides equitable access for diverse and local businesses seeking to do business within the City. Mr. Johnson has undertaken many impactful, professional roles, while serving in the city of Long Beach to include, but not limited to: 10 years as City Purchasing Director and Buyer and Recruitment Officer.
Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with honors, from California State University, Los Angeles, and has taught business courses through California State University, Long Beach and the American Contract Compliance Association Training Institute at Morgan State University. He currently serves as Vice President of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Long Beach Branch, Corporate Relations and Fundraising Chairman, as well as, Fundraising and Corporate Chairman, and President Emeritus of 100 Black Men of Long Beach, Inc., while pursuing photo journalism and maintaining a lifelong passion for global travel and the Olympic Games!
